Love in the Details: Shahrzad and Taymour's Romantic Journey from Proposal to Wedding Day

After an intimate Valentine's proposal Shahrzad and Taymour wed on 9th July 2021 at Old Marylebone Town Hall, London. Their special day was a beautiful celebration filled with their closest family, great food, and timeless memories.  

Who proposed and how? 

My husband, Taymour proposed. On Valentines Day. After he told me he would like our proposal to be somewhere romantic out of town. Then sitting on the sofa sipping on mimosas he just asked me "will you be my wife" there were tears and lots of laughter about how he had just talked about it! Very unusual but a real proposal. Loved it.

What was your vision for your wedding?

Since all of this was happening during Covid, I envisioned a small ceremony followed by lunch. And that's what happened. Although it was quite smaller than I had imagined and I did not have any of my girls with me :( Which was very sad and definitely not how I pictured my most important day.

What shoes did you choose? 

I saw the Colette shoes online early on after the proposal. They sat in my Pinterest folder for a long time. I looked at many other designers online but when the stores opened I decided to come to see the Colette's in real life. It was love at first sight! They were the first pair I fell in love with online, the first pair I wore, and BOOM, decision made!

What were your most memorable and favourite moments of the day?

So many...Doing my makeup in 10 minutes! My mom helping me put on the shoes,..the registrar holding a fan for me before the ceremony so I don't sweat! My dad telling me how happy he is that I found someone I love! The first look we had. Taking pictures in the park. and the CAKE by the wonderful Lilly Vanili.

Is there any advice you would give to future couples, in the buying shoe process or in any aspect of the wedding experience? 

Make sure your shoe is comfortable as well as gorgeous. Go with what YOU want not what others keep advising you. And personally, I wanted a pair of shoes that I could wear again and again.
