FIT INFORMATION & SIZE CHART

We are here to help, if you have a fit & size questions please get in touch.

Most of our styles fit true to size, so best to select your normal shoe size, the size you wear in other court shoes or pumps.

Where we have styles that fit either on the snug or generous side, we’ve made it easy for you by adding advice to order a size up or down.

The table below is a size conversion chart for women's shoes, note men's and unisex size conversions are different.

EMMY'S TIPS

  •   Trying shoes on at home, best to try on over a clean towel or freshly hoovered carpet area.
  •   Note when trying on shoes with stockings, they can make your foot slip into the shoe further forward than when trying without, best to try on your shoes with and without stockings.
  •   The plastic protective film on the soles need to be removed before you wear them, whilst trying them on they can make the shoes feel slippery and harder to walk in.
  •   The optimum fit is to feel snug initially, the suede or leather moulds to your shape creating the perfect fit for you. The best way to speed that process up, especially if there is a particular part on your foot where you feel you need the shoe to give specifically, is to have a hot bath or shower, dry your feet, pop stockings on and wear the shoes (standing is best) whilst your feet are still warm for about 20 minutes.
  •   How do I know if my shoes are too big? If there is a gap at the back of your shoe that you can fit a finger in, the shoes are a whole size too big. If the gap at the back is visible but you can’t fit your finger down the back of the shoes but you still slip out as you walk, you may want to try adding a gel pad to the front of the shoes to bring your foot back in the shoe. This closes the gap and makes the shoes feel more secure.
  •   How do I know if my shoes are too small? If you feel the shoes are pinching anywhere and create visible bunching up of your skin on your feet and feels like the bones in your toes don’t have enough room to move naturally to walk, the shoes are a whole size too small.
  •   Do I need a wide fit? Our wide fit shoes are EEE fitting, so visually the shoes don’t look any different, the extra width just gives you a little more wiggle room in the joint area of your foot. If you have bunions on one or both feet our wide fit is recommended. With our wide fit, we suggest going down half a size, so if you usually wear a court shoe or pump in a 38, order a 37.5 Wide. We have developed the wide fit lasts to create extra volume in the joint area only, meaning the waist area of the sole remains elegant and flattering.
  • In between sizes? If you typically wear a whole size in court shoes or pumps but find they slip off at the back as your walk, or feel your toes are a bit squashed, order a half size your feet will thank you!

OUR FIT PROMISE

We are passionate about the perfect fit for you and so have developed and evolved our lasts and heels over the last 20 years to ensure every half size last has its own perfectly fitting and balanced heel. We can do this because we focus our aesthetic on classic silhouettes and not fast fashion trends.

Perfectly fitting shoes will make you feel supported because your foot arches will be sitting on exactly the right curve of the shoe arches, you’ll feel stable because your weight will be evenly distributed evenly between the heel of your foot and the joint area of your foot.

Comfort is the key to happy feet, so we prioritise comfort in every step of the shoe making process by selecting soft to touch materials and finishes that allow the shoes to mould to you, breathable components and we add cutting edge technology foam for your foot to feel padded all the way from the tips of your toes to your heel.
